Full Schedule for the Scandriglia Film Festival
October 12

12:00PM
A is for Alice (Italy)

The film portrays a dystopian world very close to us where people hibernate every November and wake up in the spring. The protagonist, a nineteen-year-old boy named Stefano, is forced to face the period of hibernation in the isolated and creepy house of his stepmother, his father's new companion.
The young protagonist can't come to terms with his mother's death, and the fact that his father wants to move on. The absence of his mother figure awakens a strong fear of loneliness in him. His worst nightmare comes true when he discovers that he is the only human to have woken up too early from hibernation. Or at least, that's what he believes…

This is a unique story of faith, courage and magical thinking. A story of how the dream of an elderly English teacher finally comes true with the help of a rickshaw driver, a lapsed buddhist monk and a journey into the high himalayas. It's 'The Marigold Hotel' meets 'Lost Horizon'.
